  June Show & Tell

Four of our members attended the MAFA conference in Millersville, Pa in late June.  There workshop samples are among our June Show & TEll.

Bobbie took a class in making Temari balls.   She came home with several in-progress!

Sandi participated in a class on spinning and plying.  This is just one of her pages, showing one of the wool fibers, Corriedale, which she learned more about.

Kathy took a wonderful class from Robyn Spady which included “tasting” several weave structures which she had never attempted.  Some of them included Swivel, Samitum, Biederwand and Velvet, among others.

Jan took a class on weaving Southern Counterpanes.  Using 20/2 cotton was a new challenge.

Two new scarves from Maryann.  One called Rumplestiltskin and the other a variation on Strickler #46.

We always enjoy seeing the rugs that George brings in each month.  They are wonderful.  He also brought in some 12 shaft twill variation towels this month.

Judy’s two towels woven on a pinwheel warp with a modification to the treadling.  Also, an Inkle band key chain and a beautiful beaded Kumihimo necklace.

This simply elegant ribbed scarf from Sandi has a tubular selvedge.  She provided the draft for those who would like to try out this edge treatment.  This tubular selvedge was a little different from the last one, being slightly flatter and more oval in cross-section than her previous scarf.
