Welcome to the Tavern Spinners & Weavers Guild website.  We are a group of about 40 spinners, weavers, felters, knitters and dyers.  We work both cooperatively in our common studio and independently at our own home studios to learn about and share our fascination of the fiber arts.  Our members range from those with more than 30 years of experience all the way to those who have just recently learned.  Each of us continues to be intriqued by the limitless creative options in weaving, spinning, knitting and all the fiber arts.  If you are curious about the fiber arts or looking for a group of like-minded individuals, we hope you will join us in our exploration of the fiber arts.

Guild members are usually in our studio each Wednesday thru Saturday from 10:00 to 2:00 to work on current projects and to discuss upcoming projects and events.  If you will be visiting the area, please contact us so we can be sure someone will be in the studio to greet you and answer your questions.  See Contact section.

Our focus is on educating the public, and ourselves, about the art and craft of spinning, weaving, knitting, and all manner of fiber arts.   In our common studio, we have at least 6 floor looms, 2 to 3 table looms and several spinning wheels.  Except when we are teaching a beginning weaving class, these looms are warped and dressed with hand-towels, rugs, coasters or other special projects.  When the Heritage Arts Center is open, visitors and the public can see how fabric is woven and purchase handwoven items downstairs in the Tavern’s Heritage Arts Shoppe.  In addition to handwoven items of our guild members, you will find a wide variety of other handcrafted treasures in many artistic media available for purchase.
